Borobudur is place for Buddha believers to worshiped to their god.Located at Magelang,Central Java at Indonesia.Its a monument built for Sailendra and the Architects is Gunadharma.Completely built on AD 800.Known as candi borobudur in Indonesia.This monuments comprises 6 square platform,Topped by 3 circular platform Decorated with 2672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues.The main dome,located at the center is surrounded with 72 Buddha Statues seated inside perforated stupa.The monument is a shrine for lord buddha and a place for buddhist pilgrimage.
Borobudur is built as single large stupa.When we looks at the Plan view,It form a giant Mandala.It represent the Buddhist cosmology and nature of mind.The foundation is a square, approximately 118m on each side.It upper three are circular.The upper platform features 72 small stupas surrounding 1 large central stupa.Each stupa is bell-shaped and pierced by numerous decorative openings.Statues of the Buddha sit inside the pierced enclosures.The stone was cut to size, transported to the site and laid out without mortar.Relief were built in-situ after the building had been completed.The main vertical structure can be divided into 3 groups:Base(foot), body, and top, which resembles the 3 major division of a human body.
